Joe“Must Love Dogs”: Engagement Shoots with Dogs, Philadelphia Pet & Dog Photographer

May 9th, 2012 by Joe

Who wouldn’t “bark” at the opportunity of having their engagement photos taken along with their furry friend? At JPG Photography, we love to document real life moments, without the cliché poses and backdrops. For some couples, this means a walk to the local park or beach, and that certainly includes spending time with your favorite pet! Since we have two rescue dogs of our own, we love all dogs, and always enjoy being a creative pet photographer in Philadelphia! Here is a list of some of our favorite engagement shoots including dogs:

Our Top Ten Favorite Puppy Moments (plus one more, because narrowing down is so difficult)

1.) Monica and Adam – They had their photos taken near their home in Monmouth County, New Jersey. Favorite moment: when we made our way to a lake, where their pooch sat by the waterside.

2.) Stacy and Joseph – These were taken at a public park in New Jersey. Favorite moment: the couple played on a jungle gym with their dog, racing down slides with the pup in their laps.

3.) Melanie and Michael – This couple had their photo shoot in the garden of their backyard. Favorite moment: while they were showing off their green thumbs, their canine friend joined them for some fun in the grass and dirt.

4.) Marissa and Matthew – These photos were taken in the streets of Elfreth’s Alley in Philadelphia. Favorite moment: when they dressed their dog in a winter coat for the chilly walk.

5.) Leah and Demetri – This couple went to a public beach in New Jersey, where they laid in the sand. Favorite moment: they walked along the ocean-side, playing fetch with a tiny soccer ball.

6.) Kristin and Matt – They had their shoot in their suburban town. Favorite moment: when the couple shared a leaf shower, as their dog laid in a blanket of crunchy leaves.

7.) Kaytie and Ari – Their engagement shoot occurred near South and Bainbridge streets, in Philadelphia. Favorite moment: in their home, where their large dog laid comfortably in their laps.

8.) Kara and Andrew – These photos were taken in Philadelphia, in a park near the art museum and in their home. Favorite moment: taking photos of the couple giving their dog a bath.

9.) Elizabeth and Clifford – They took their dog for a walk in New York’s Central Park for their engagement photo shoot. Favorite moment: having our quick rock-and-roll stop at a small amphitheater.

10.) Abby and Annie – They dressed their dog in a winter coat before taking photos in the snow outside of their home. Favorite moment: the couple rolling across the snowy ground as their dog joined in their fun.

11.) Cassie and Brandon – We had their photo shoot in the suburbs of New Jersey, where they walked their dog to a local park. Favorite moment: their dog ran freely around the couple as we took their photos.

We love when couples want to include their pets in their photos, because it gives a great glimpse into their lives as a family. We hope to have more photo shoots in the future where some animal friends can make an appearance!

Best,

Joe G
