The wedding of Amira and John was, in a nutshell, an outstanding 3 day party — this was the real deal. It kicked-off on a Thursday night with a henna party held at Amira’s family’s home. This turned out to be an amazing event with tons of food and family. Friday night was the rehearsal dinner at La Famiglia, which boasts some top-notch Italian, followed by an after-party.

The ceremony and reception took place at Trust — for those who don’t know, Trust is an art gallery and the art on the first floor was all created exclusively by Zana Bass, the bride’s sister. Photos of the couple both together and as children were clothes-pinned outside the Betsy Ross House which added a very sweet personal touch. Amira has great taste and wore 3 different dresses throughout the day starting with a beautiful white sari which made her look absolutely angelic. Her Sri Lankan heritage was reflected beautifully in the details of this wedding. They had really unique favors for their guests which were Sri Lankan hand-made brass wind chimes and hand-made salad servers fashioned from coconut shell, painted in the wedding colors.

The colors of this wedding were so so so vibrant; even at the reception the walls were covered with colorful fabric and so many guests were dressed in bright jewel tones. At the end of the night the couple exited in a sea of sparklers. In a cool twist we got some shots post-reception in Rittenhouse Square and Dilworth Plaza and at the end of the night the couple sped away in a Rolls Royce creating the perfect end to their 3 day wedding extravaganza and a bright beginning to a new stage of their lives.
