JoeSarah and Mark’s Doylestown Engagement Shoot

July 29th, 2010 by Joe

Just north of Philadelphia is the charming Doylestown. That’s where this Philadelphia wedding photojournalist met Sarah and Mark for their engagement shoot last November. While they both live in Boston, Sarah grew up in Doylestown. They both have great memories there and were able to take Ashley and I to some of there favorite places.

These two are incredibly fun. They have so much energy and so many faces. In historic downtown Doylestown, the architecture was an awesome backdrop for Sarah and Mark. We used the Septa train station, the cobblestone streets and a few of Doylestown’s premier locations. After some light reading at the bookstore and a few shots at An Enchanted Florist we headed over to Station Express for coffee. That’s where we met Sarah’s family! They are such nice people and were obviously a fantastic support to both Sarah and Mark.

After some java with the family we walked over to The County Theater.  This little non-profit community-based theater is one of the only places to go see an independent or foreign film in the area. It’s a retro blast from the past with a vintage popcorn machine and the classic red seats.  Although Doylestown was founded in the 18th century it has a modern chic energy.

At the end of the engagement shoot Sarah and Mark’s adventurous side came out even more. They ended up climbing on random peoples fire escapes so that we could get some really fun shots.

It was a fantastic day. Their wedding was in June at Sarah’s parents house in Doylestown. Their wedding was such a treat to photograph that Ashley, Sarah and I still rave about it! Stay posted, their wedding photos are coming to the blog soon.

Best,
